Since we started manufacturing them in 1978 the Woodland traditional box sash window has been continuously evolved and improved upon. Today it is the window of choice for the period Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian home.
Woodland has applied modern design expertise with traditional craftsmanship to create a window which offers exceptional thermal and acoustic performance without compromising traditional features.
In response to the problem of noise pollution Woodland now offers a range of windows incorporating acoustic glass and superior acoustic seals to meet the demands of the noisiest urban environments including flight paths and busy roads.
All Woodland box sash windows feature Accoya™ wood. Accoya™ is an FSC certified, low maintenance, extremely durable timber with exceptional dimensional stability and UV resistance.
Woodland sash windows also incorporate Red Grandis, an FSC certified hardwood possessing the durability and stability necessary for use in external joinery in harsh environments.
All Woodland windows and doors are factory finished in Sikkens Rubbol microporous paint system. This is a premium quality, environmentally friendly, low maintenance paint designed to keep your products looking like new for years to come, even in the harshest environments
Standard paint system: Sikkens Rubbol, satin white, RAL 9016 inside and out
Optional: Gloss finish, dual colour (different colour inside /out), stained finish, or colour matching to all well-known brands of paint, including Farrow & Ball, Fired Earth, Little Greene
Superior windows deserve superior fittings. Woodland use a range of the finest architectural ironmongery on all our sash windows. We know how important it is that you can feel the quality every time you open any Woodland window.
All Woodland timber sash windows feature British-made, cast brass sash lifts by ‘Croft’ to provide a quality and effortless feel every time you open your windows; insurance rated, adjustable ‘Rola’ vent locks by Bramah, ensuring your windows are securely locked, even when ventilated; quality ball-bearing pulleys for smooth and quiet operation, year after year.
Other fasteners by Croft as well as other specialist fittings are available:
Standard finishes are polished brass, polished chrome and satin chrome.
A range of more specialist finishes are also available to order including: antique brass, bronze, peal nickel, polished gunmetal.
Glazing is an increasingly important factor when specifying wooden sash windows, especially in period properties. Thermal performance, acoustics and heritage looks are all influenced by the choice of glass.
All double glazed units are manufactured in-house by Woodland to the relevant standards (BSEN 1279). This not only gives us total quality control, it also allows us to manufacture a wide variety of specifications including energy saving Argon and Krypton gas-filled units, slim-line heritage units and acoustic glass.
All Woodland box sash windows feature the following as standard:
Traditional lead weights and pulleys for low maintenance and ease of operation, Accoya™ wood for stability and durability, Planitherm soft coat low E glass, Warm edge spacer, Argon cavity, unique ‘triple seal’ weather seal system, high security adjustable vent locks and long lasting, low maintenance finish with Sikkens factory paint system
